New Pictures

Well, as you've probably noticed, I haven't posted any new pics lately, because Blogger sucks. I'm going to be looking into a new blog system, but I'll have to play with it a little before it is up and running. SORRY!!! I can't wait to get new pics up, and we have plenty to share! I'll get back to you soon...

As you can see, new photos have been posted and - as long as there are no more Blogger glitches - I will continue to post more pictures on a daily basis, as long as I have new ones to post. Gettin' ready for a ride! 

After Sienna's first trip to the river, we all headed out for a lap around the apartment complex. Beautiful blue skies!!!

So Dad took me on my first walk this last Tuesday! Ok...so Dad did the walking...I just went along for the ride.
















We hung out by the river and by the lake. I pretty much slept through it all, though, so Dad had to tell me all about it after I woke up again.
I thought, "that's weird...I don't remember much about that trip - except for the sun shining in my face every time Dad pulled the covers back to take a picture of me."

Ahhh...I haven't napped in minutes! Let's see if I can't get some well-deserved shut-eye!

So I like really big pacifiers...what can I say. Bigger than my face, if possible. 

Sienna and I take a little nap together. We're poooped! 

Look, Mommy...I'll even keep my legs straight up in the air like this, if you'll just be quick about this diaper change! It's not getting any warmer in here! Muy pronto - let's go! 

March is always an unpredictable month here in the mile high state. Some years we get up to three feet of snow in two days, some years it's 80 degrees and sunny. Some years we have tornados and rain, some years it's drought-like conditions. This year has not been any different.

Last week, it was in the 60's and 70's. Then the temps dropped and on Monday, it rained and snowed. Yesterday it was sunny and snowing, and today it is snowing and overcast. 

For all of you who have been suggesting that Sienna looks like me...I beginning to see the resemblance! Here are some very old photos of me as a baby! Sienna and I definitely have the "boxer's nose" in common! Thanks for sharing the pics, Mom and Dad!!!

As I promised, here are more pictures of little Sienna! She's had a good morning filled with several feedings (poor Kris is worn out...but loving her job as a mom!), and now she's ready for a nice short nap!









Molly's been a good big sister, and we've even found her standing guard over Sienna while she sleeps in her bassinet! Who knows what she's really thinking...probably, "What is that thing, and why is it in my bed?"









Sienna says HI, and she'll be seeing you soon!

Kris in the labor and delivery room at St. Joseph's in Denver, CO. About one hour after arrival. Contractions have started, but are mild and ten minutes apart. Within the next three hours, Kris would be dilated at 6cm! After only six hours of active labor, Kris would already be dilated to 10cm and the baby efaced at +2 (+3 is the best, but +2 works for delivery).

The labor and delivery accomodations are really nice, with everything hidden inside of cabinets.

We arrived at the hospital at around 12:30am, two hours after Kris' water broke in the middle of a deep sleep. I remember her waking me up, and saying that she thought her water broke, and as water kept trickling down her leg, we knew it was that time!

After 10 hours of labor, including 3 HARD hours of pushing, Kris finally gave birth to little Sienna Peace Gideon! What a beautiful little girl! She's still all covered with vernix, a substance that helps protect the baby's skin from amniotic fluid. She's also a little bluish/pink at first, but she later loses the bluish tint and becomes quite red.

Kris was amazing! She worked HARD to bring little Sienna into the world, pushing for THREE hours straight! The doctors, to my later realization, started the pushing phase too soon, as Kris' contractions were still 5-6 minutes apart (they should be closer to 2 minutes apart, if not even closer). I will definitely remember that next time! It's MUCH better to let the body prepare itself for delivery...and it will!

Baby's first footprints!

All bundled and fresh out of the womb, Sienna gets ready for her first bath!

Time for your first bath, Sienna! She cried a little, but sure did enjoy the shampoo!

Nothing like a warm shampoo after 9 months of swimming in amniotic fluid! Baby Sienna gets her first sponge bath, with a much needed shampoo. She's happy!

After feeding for some time, both Kris and Sienna are BEAT! Can you tell?!

After a few hours in the delivery room, we headed for the Mother and Baby Unit for some much needed food and a clean environment.

How can you resist that little puffy face!

We spent a lot of time bonding with each other, giving Mommy some time to nap, eat, shower, or just time to relax in whatever way she needs.

Sienna and I hang out together, giving Mommy a well-deserved shower break.

Ready for your first ride in a car?! "As long as you keep me bundled up, I don't care what I ride in, Daddy!"

Sienna finds the car seat nice and comfy - a good place for a nap!

Kris and I pack it up for the journey home. Good-bye hospital, and all of your annoying interuptions! It was REALLY hard to find any rest on the mother/baby unit because of the constant flow of nurses, doctors, lactation consultants, research workers, nurse assistants, room service personal, photographers, and whoever else it was that decided our room was a good place to hang out!

Little Sienna is finally home, and after a feeding, is ready for bed! Look at all that hair - she must of got that from her father!

Swaddling time! Someone's not happy about being exposed! But she soon finds comfort in a nice tight wrap. Welcome Home, Baby Sienna!!!
